Telescopes
Langley Main Street Association, in partnership with the City of Langley, installed telescopes at key viewpoints overlooking Saratoga Passage. These w/60 millimeter telescopes are plenty powerful enough to observe whales, passing boat traffic, and the Cascade mountain range.
As an added bonus, they’re not the silver coin-operated binoculars that often grace scenic areas around the world but are single-eye “pirate-style” telescopes. And they work for free.
This Economic Vitality project was meant to be a fun thing for visitors and residents alike, but also to increase pedestrian circulation throughout the downtown district.
You can find these telescopes at Boy & Dog Park, the water tank below Whale Bell Park, and on Cascade Avenue.
